Summer has arrived, we have it here, again with us. Another year that we will enjoy again with the pleasures that this summer season offers us: the beach, being able to bathe in the sea, savor a beer or ice cold soda on a terrace or sitting on the sand enjoying the horizon and saying “see you tomorrow” to our dear sun.
I love summer, I like it so much that sometimes I don’t know how to enjoy it. Let me explain, I suffer from the great defect of not having measure and especially it happens to me with food. It is the great sin that I commit every year. It is always the same when summer arrives, year after year it is the same and then I suffer the consequences of so much excess and of punishing my stomach greatly.
It is over, this year I have convinced myself and I intend to redeem myself and not suffer any more indigestion, heat stroke and dehydration that usually appear when we do not control what we eat or the food we eat. I have properly informed myself of the advice and the best diet to follow to enjoy a healthy way during these three months. The best thing is that I am going to eat in a very varied way and in no time I will go hungry. Take good note …
The tips are easy to follow. Do not resort to junk food, it is very important to hydrate properly, eat foods rich in minerals and vitamins, eat well and have a light dinner, avoid “stove” foods that increase body temperature and reduce the consumption of exciting foods such as coffee, chocolate, sugar and alcohol. If we follow these simple recommendations, our nerves, stomach and heart will thank us profusely.

Salads There are many types and varieties. The one I like the most is Cesar, if the same thing happens to you, on this salad website you will find very different ways to prepare it. Other salads that I will not miss these days: chicken, with rice and corn, tuna salad, salmon with Parmesan cheese, pasta salad, the classic potato salad, cabbage, the Waldorf … Still? Surely it is not necessary and you have already signed up more than one. Soups and cold creams . Ideal for this weather and nothing heavy. To enjoy both at lunch and dinner. Salmorejo, vichyssoise, cream of mushrooms and tomatoes, cold pumpkin and orange soup, or melon with ham. What do you think of an ajoblanco with a shot of grape? I do not know how to live without it and with some of these recipes we can continue to enjoy this dish that is part of our history and our gastronomic wealth. Do your best to eat it instead of dinner, you will enjoy a lighter sleep.
Meats. It is not necessary to eliminate them from our summer menu, the trick is to know which ones are the most suitable for this season and how to cook them. Stewed beef, grilled chicken, great recipes such as chocolate veal with spiced sweet potato, a good dinner of chicken with fresh cheese as the main dish, braised turkey or the classic country rice with veal. Fish. Without discriminating; enjoy them both for lunch and dinner. Grilled salmon, prawn croquettes, fish and vegetable puff pastry, creamy rice with prawns and prawns … Desserts. A meal worth its salt must be accompanied by a great dessert. Key lime pie, figs with fresh cheese and ham, strawberry ice cream (or orange, or peach, apricot, banana, pear, lemon…), a cold and creamy smoothie, fruit salad. Without forgetting the cereals, milk and yogurts.
Bon appetit! Eating a balanced diet during the summer is not so difficult or impossible, it is only a matter of trying and creating the diet that best suits your tastes and gastronomic needs. You can even convince the rest of the family to accompany you on this little summer adventure, although I have already warned you that it is difficult, or at least that is what has happened to me. Neither my wife nor my two daughters have wanted to enjoy this great diet with me; I love them madly, but they miss it.
Do not forget that the main objective of this diet is to achieve adequate health for your body and mind at all times. Excesses are never good, but much less in times like summer when you have to avoid accidents as little beneficial as heat stroke, indigestion or the dreaded dehydration.
