Today I am going to share with you a recipe that you are sure to love, it is a delicious Orange Chicken that is really juicy and with which you will win everyone at home, starting with the little ones.
A lot has been written about the benefits of the orange on the net as that it is rich in fiber, that it contains vitamin C, which is very good to prevent colds … But this time I am only going to look at its refreshing taste and that rich smell that comes off when you peel it. Let’s see, close your eyes and remember when as a girl your mother gave you an orange for a snack, how delicious did you taste, right?
This recipe combines the sweet and sour taste of orange with the smooth texture of chicken and the combination is explosive. And it is not surprising that it has this mixture of nuances since it is native to Asia where this type of flavors is very common.
If you are a lover of oriental cuisine, do not hesitate for a moment to prepare this recipe that you can taste alone or with white rice .

Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 4 oranges
  • 1 onion
  • 2 or 3 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 1 spoon of sugar
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Orange chicken: step by step

1.- The first thing is to put the oranges in the microwave for 30 seconds to get more juice and get 2 glasses, which is what you need for the sauce. You take them out of the microwave and make the juice that you put in a bowl.
2.- Then add the soy sauce, a teaspoon of orange zest, 1 of sugar and 2 of cornstarch to thicken the sauce. You stir immediately so that no lumps form.
3.- The salt and pepper, you stir it again and reserve.
4.- Put a saucepan over medium heat with a drizzle of oil, add the finely chopped onion and lower the heat. You add a little salt to release the water and poach before.
5.- When you see that it has taken color, add the breasts cut into small cubes the size of a bite and seal the meat until it has lost its pink color.

6.- Once the meat is sealed so that it does not lose the juices, pour the sauce that you had reserved and cook for about 15 minutes over low heat, until the sauce has thickened.
