This dish is made with very modest but very tasty ingredients that you will surely have on hand at home. They are also very crunchy and if you serve them with a rich sauce , even the little ones in the house will not complain. They can also be used to accompany your favorite meat or fish dish.
I hope you like them and that what happens to me, I had never made them but since they tried these burgers I have cooked them a handful of times because they ask me continuously and I love it since I make them in a jiffy and for two hard.
Potato and onion burgers: step by step
- 4 medium potatoes
- 1 carrot
- 1 onion
- 2 eggs
- 100 gr of breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 glass of milk
- Oil for frying
The first thing is to cook the carrot and the peeled and split potatoes in a pot with plenty of water
While they cook you are making the onion. Put a frying pan with plenty of oil, this oil will serve you to fry the hamburgers, and fry the finely chopped onion over low heat.
When the potatoes are tender, drain them, put them in a bowl and mash them with a fork, add the milk and soft butter and stir well.
Now you add the beaten eggs and the breadcrumbs and mix it well.
You just need to put the chopped parsley, salt and pepper. You stir it again until all the ingredients are well integrated and put the bowl in the refrigerator for half an hour.
After 30 minutes, the mixture is ready to make the hamburgers. Soak your hands with flour so that the dough does not stick, you take portions and you give it the shape of a hamburger on top of a piece of baking paper.
Finally, you fry them in the same oil (strained) that you made the onion so that they take on their flavor. You make them on all sides until they are golden brown.
My tips and tricks for great potato and onion burgers
- If you cook the potatoes in a fast pot, they take about 6 minutes, but if you prefer the conventional pot, they will be done in 30 minutes.
- The potatoes can also be passed through the masher.
- I have used a round mold to shape them and make them more beautiful.
- They have to be 1 cm thick, more or less.
- I’ve put the parchment paper so they don’t stick on the counter and it’s easier to toss them into the pan.
