This rice pudding flan is perfect for this warm weather. The truth is that I love it because it is so cool and soft that I feel like it at any time of the day.
Since it occurred to me one day to mix the two desserts that I like the most in my house, I no longer stop making this Egg flan, because that way I give everyone a taste and I take a lot of work off of it because to prepare it I just have to mix all the ingredients and that’s it. Do not see how easy it is and how rich it is.
When I cooked it the first time, I couldn’t imagine how delicious it is. It has a slight flavor of rice pudding, cinnamon, egg … and a great aroma. Few sweets gather in such a delicate way the flavor of such classic desserts. Well I’m going to quit because it’s making my mouth water just thinking about it.

Ingredients
- 2 tubs of rice pudding from the super or homemade (see recipe)
- 500 ml of condensed milk
- 500 ml whole milk
- 6 eggs
- Liquid caramel purchased or homemade (see recipe)
- 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
Rice pudding flan step by step
1.- You start by spreading the caramel on the base of the mold where you are going to cook the flan. I have used a 25 cm diameter crown mold but you can also use a 20 cm round one.
2.- Now beat all the ingredients in a blender.
3.- Then you put a little of this mixture in a smaller jar so that it is easier for you to pour it into the mold. You are pouring the content slowly so as not to drag the caramel from the bottom.
Final preparation
4.- You place the mold inside a baking tray and pour like a finger of water, more or less.
5.- Put the tray into the oven preheated to 200ºC, with heat up and down and cook it for 20 to 25 minutes.
6.- As soon as the time has elapsed you check with a toothpick if the flan is curdled. If it comes out clean it means that it is already done and if you cannot put it in the oven a little more.
7.- Let it warm to room temperature and when it is cold you put it in the fridge for about 5 hours. Finally, you unmold it by passing a knife around the edge and decorate it as you like.
My tips and tricks
- Water should never fall into the flan or it may spoil.
- If you want it to taste more like rice pudding, you can add one more tub.
- You can’t use a removable mold because water can get into the mixture.
