The retailer announced through a press release that it was systematically removing two flavors of this frozen food. The reasons have to do with food issues in which the FDA has already intervened.

Why does Aldi USA recall these foods?

It is important to note that these are two specific products, two flavors of Earth Grown Vegan brand frozen falafel, manufactured by Cuisine Innovations Unlimited LLC. According to the FDA, these potentially hazardous products have been sold in more than 30 states. It is, therefore, a widespread sale that has forced a massive recall.

The reason is that there are serious indications of the connection between foods with an E.Coli outbreak that has emerged in different states. An investigation by the health agency showed that a high percentage of people infected with this bacterium had ingested the frozen falafel and, specifically, one of the two recalled flavors. Infection by this bacterium can cause severe disorders in the digestive system, so products that have been exposed to this bacterium are considered potentially dangerous.

Due to this, the commercial firm has immediately withdrawn this product from its freezers. Therefore, you should not worry because you will not find it in your store. However, if you still have any of them in your freezer, the recommendation is simple: send them to the trash.
