This $7 dressing from Costco is always in my fridge, and I use it on everything

It's the secret of my dishes, and my friends love it. Believe me: you're gonna to love it too.

My friend Kyle had been telling me for months that I should try it, and I didn’t listen to him. Until one day he invited me to his house for lunch and, Oh my God, what a fool I was all this time!

The taste, the aroma, the texture, the consistency… Everything is perfect in this dressing that combines characteristics that you will not find in any other brand. It is the Kewpie Deep Roasted Sesame Dressing & Marinade, which you can find in your nearest Costco, a bottle that contains, more than a dressing, an umami experience that will make your dishes a piece of art.

Not a regular dressing: a culinary experience in Costco

Open the bottle and an intense but balanced smell of toasted sesame seed caresses your nose, which rises combined with a touch of sweetness, provided by brown sugar, and acidity, given by soy sauce.

When you try Kewpie sesame dressing, you get a combination of slightly sweet, salty, spicy and toasted nutty flavors. All that at once and not competing with each other!

The consistency is actually light and smooth, not dense or heavy, which I love because you can mix it with almost everything. From chicken to salads, every vegetable, every lettuce leaf or tomato piece are covered by this delicious liquid experience. I particularly tried it with two or three different salads – and even with chicken salad – but the label recommends you also use it in pasta, vegetable dips, slaw mix, marinade, fish and red meat.

A couple of tips

Of course, you have to learn how to use it: a small splash is all you need (less than one tablespoon, I’d say), because sesame has the ability to surpass all the flavors if you add too much. It is also important to shake the bottle well before use, so that all solid and liquid ingredients are evenly mixed when serving.

Is it the healthiest dressing? Well, not exactly: One tablespoon has 70 calories, 7 grams of fat, 2 grams of carbohydrates, 2 grams of sugar and 150 mg of sodium. It provides no fiber and has almost no protein, so it’s indispensable that you always think about a nutritive and balance meal when using it. But, from time to time, you can take it out of the refrigerator to give a little touch of Asian flavor to your dishes.

My friends love this secret (which is not so secret anymore after I’m revealing it here), and I’m sure your family and friends are going to love it too. Thank you, Kyle, for introducing me to this wonderful product. If you plan to give it a twits to your Thanksgiving dinner with this dressing, don’t wait to last minute to rush to the store, and here’s all you need to know about operating hours at Costco for that holiday.

On the other hand, there are some things that you should NOT buy in bulk in Costco. Check out this article to find out!
