Every day is less for the fourteenth of February to arrive, Wednesday, Saint Cyril, Saint Methodius and, of course, Saint Valentine for everyone. At this point, the same question invades us every year: what do I give my partner? I am going to be brief and concise so as not to redound to this question: something romantic? some clothes? a perfume? a dinner? a…? a…? That is how we could stay until the day of the final judgment and there is even the possibility that, at that moment, we have not yet decided what to give away.
You have another possibility and that is to do what my wife and I do: we decide the gift between us. Instead of giving each other a gift, we buy one and it’s to be enjoyed at home, that’s how we share it between the two of us. There is no problem since each one writes on a piece of paper what he wants, we put it in a bag and one of our children (who precisely none of them can declare himself an “innocent hand”) takes out the paper with the gift that we are going to do. No discussions, no headaches and totally consensual. The perfect system.
A few days ago we held the draw for this year and my son the little one was this time the innocent hand. My gift came out! A capsule coffee maker. “It is a gift that is going to come out for a fortune,” said my wife. If I let him continue, I told him that this was a thing of the past, that there are many inexpensive espresso machines on the market. “Show me,” I exclaim. And, of course, I had no choice but to do so.
We sat together on the couch and I turned on the laptop, went on the internet and showed my wife that capsule coffee makers are inexpensively priced, both machines and capsules.
We discovered that a few years ago Nespresso had a monopoly on these coffee machines and no one was shadowing it, but in the current market there are many brands that already market many and varied models. This competition causes the prices of coffee makers and their capsules to drop considerably and are much cheaper. Models can be purchased with very affordable prices ranging from € 35 to € 55.
The same thing happens with capsules as with machines. As the use of this type of coffee maker has become so widespread, there is an increasing demand for capsules, which has caused the supply to be wider as well. Before, only those offered by the brands and manufacturers of coffee machines could be used, however, now there is the possibility of buying capsules in many supermarkets of the so-called “white brands”, which in many cases offer great coffee, are fully compatible and much cheaper than the originals.
Another advantage of capsule coffee machines, in addition to being economical, is that they are cleaner and have a more beautiful and modern design than conventional coffee machines, without losing in any way the flavor and quality of the coffee.
My wife was convinced that capsule coffee machines are a great option and are really inexpensive. “A perfect gift for those of us who are coffee growers,” he said. And here we continue, glued to the computer and looking at which of all the models that we have found is the one that we give ourselves for Valentine’s Day. Although I am sure that in the end it is my wife who decides it 🙂
