The mattresses subject to this recall are the Novaform ComfortGrande 14-inch and the Novaform DreamAway 8-inch, in case its has been purchased within this year.

These exclusive Costco products were available at their stores in the San Francisco Bay region, across the Greater Northwest and on their online platform. The pricing range for these high-quality mattresses was carefully designed, ranging from $150 to $750, offering consumers an affordable option without compromising on quality.

The mold issue

The mold that affected these mattresses appears to have developed during the manufacturing process, possibly due to exposure to water.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), this poses a health risk to individuals with weakened immune systems, lung issues, or mold allergies.

Costco explains steps for consumers to take

If you happen to own one of these recalled mattresses, there’s no need to panic. Costco, in collaboration with the manufacturer, FXI, is taking steps to address this issue. Consumers have the option to receive a full refund or a free replacement.

Opting for a replacement means the company will deliver the new mattress to you at no extra cost and remove the old one for free.

To request a refund or replacement is quit easy. Everyting you have to do is to get in touch by telephone with FXI at (888) 886-2057 during their customer service hours, which are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.

Checking the law tag

To determine if your mattress is part of the recall, FXI advises checking the law tag on the product. The tag will specify whether your ComfortGrande or DreamAway model was manufactured at FXI’s San Bernardino, California facility between January 2 and April 30 for ComfortGrande and between January 30 and April 30 for the DreamAway model.
