An Aldi store in Illinois has become a chapel for a dreamed wedding

In a scene worthy of a modern-day fairy tale, Michael Hurd and Jessica Bojanowski sealed their love in the product aisle of ALDI, turning the grocery store into the unexpected backdrop for their matrimonial union.

The couple, residents of Batavia, Illinois, exchanged vows on November 9 at the chain’s local store. For Michael and Jessica, ALDI was not just a supermarket but a special place that had witnessed the most significant moments of their relationship.

Wedding at ALDI: a dream come true

“Getting married at ALDI feels like a dream come true,” share the newlyweds. “It has always been a key part of our relationship. We work opposite schedules, so weekends are the only time we get to really see each other. We’ve always cherished our Sunday morning ALDI shopping dates. It’s something we look forward to doing together each week”.

The story of this unique wedding began when the couple learned about the “Happily Ever ALDI” contest. Without hesitation, they entered and, to their surprise and joy, emerged as winners. “The people who know us best know we’re obsessed with ALDI, so they were excited for us when we told them we won this contest,” the couple shares.

A wedding officiated by an ALDI employee

The ceremony, officiated by a store employee, was followed by a reception in the wine and beer section, where guests indulged in exquisite appetizers, including chicken sliders, jumbo coconut shrimp, and an impressive charcuterie board.

The couple’s signature cocktail featured two different types of hard cider, adding a unique touch to the celebration. The three-tiered cake, with a topper depicting a shopping cart and a quarter, crowned the evening. But ALDI’s generosity didn’t end with the ceremony. Joan Kavanaugh, ALDI’s Vice President of National Buying, reveals that the couple will receive groceries for a year and essential home items as part of their prize.

Everything the couple wished

Additionally, guests left with awesome gifts, from candles to a custom-made wedding quarter holder keychain. “We still can’t believe we had the opportunity to get married in one of our favorite places, surrounded by all our family and friends,” express Michael and Jessica, reflecting the excitement of a truly unforgettable day.

The ALDI wedding was not just a milestone in this couple’s life but also a charming reminder of how ordinary places can transform into extraordinary settings for extraordinary moments.
