This designer added a Bohemian style with small wooden wands, mat style, with a natural and sober color, which gives a calm and visually quiet spirit, which turns any workspace into an oasis of peace.

While the ALEX unit does not have handles, Linsey added some beautiful bronze handles, which continue to build that beautiful Nordic trend. That’s the icing of the cake that completes the project and makes it look like a whole new piece.

When the pandemic lockdowns hit, Lindsey found herself in a familiar situation as many others around the world. With her partner now working from home, they were forced to make do with their unfinished basement utility room as a makeshift office space. However, rather than feeling discouraged by the situation, Lindsey saw an opportunity to flex her DIY skills and create a more functional workspace. “My husband was working on a 6ft plastic folding table with three screens and a laptop,” she explains. “It wasn’t ideal, but it was all we had at the time.” That’s when Ikea became the best friend for a lot of WFH people.

So Lindsey got to work, scouring online tutorials and DIY forums for inspiration. She settled on creating a custom desk using affordable materials like particleboard and hairpin legs. The end result was a sleek and sturdy workspace that fit perfectly in their basement office. As you can tell, Ikea furniture pieces are not only beautifully crafted, but also designed to be versatile to create new versions of them.

How to choose a desk for your home

Choosing a home desk can be an daunting task if you don’t know where to start. Fortunately, many options exist, so take your time to find the perfect desk to suit your needs.

The first thing you should consider is the size and shape of the desk. If you have many items to store, you can opt for a desk with multiple drawers. If you need a desk to work on, choose one that has enough surface area for your computer and some office supplies. If you have limited space, go for a compact desk.

Once you’ve decided on the size and shape, it’s important to think about quality. Choose a desk made from durable materials, such as wood, metal, plastic, or fiber. These materials can withstand daily use and ensure that your desk lasts many years.

It’s also essential to think about the style of your desk. Choose a desk with clean lines and bright colors if your decorating style is modern. If you prefer classic, go for a model with ornate details.
