Ikea, the popular Swedish furniture store, has made its way into the hearts and homes of people all over the United States. And now, with the launch of a new pick-up location in Syracuse, Ikea is making it even more convenient for Central New York residents to get their hands on all their favorite Ikea products.
According to Ikea’s website, the new pick-up location in Liverpool, NY, offers customers the option to purchase qualifying furniture orders online for a flat rate of $30 and pick them up closer to home. This means that customers in the Syracuse area can save on shipping costs and avoid the long drive to the closest Ikea store in Paramus, NJ.
Where is the new Ikea’s location in Central New York?
Despite the success of these pick-up locations, Ikea has no plans to open a brick-and-mortar store in Upstate New York, as their store locations require a population base of at least 2 million people to be successful. However, with the $100 billion Micron Technology project in Clay expected to drive a population boom in the area over the next two decades, who knows what the future may hold for Ikea in Upstate New York.
The new pick-up spot is located at 4530 Steelway Blvd South, Liverpool, N.Y. 13090, and orders can be picked up Monday through Saturday during designated hours. This pick-up place is a partner location, meaning that it is not a brick-and-mortar store and items cannot be purchased in-person.
Ikea has been expanding its pick-up locations in the United States, with 12 locations now available across the country. This includes a new location in the Buffalo area at 2525 Walden Ave., Cheektowaga, N.Y. 14225.
