What is the new Amazon shopping model like and what does it bring?

 Jeff Bezos’ multi-billion dollar business is again leading sales methods. And it has launched a new strategy to make our purchases through the online platform Amazon. The new way of shopping has a name, Inspire, and is based on a feed in which we can see photos and videos of the products. These will give us ideas about the uses we can provide the products, and may even be content created by well-known influencers.

The format in which Inspire is presented is reminiscent of formats used in other social networks, such as Tik Tok. Thus, from now on, Inspire will create competition with other social networks, tempting consumers to prefer once again the online sales giant. By now, this purchase option in Amazon will be available to select U.S. customers from the beginning of December and will be available to all other customers after a few months.

How the new Amazon shopping experience is going to work

If we are regular shoppers through the Amazon app, we have to know that we will notice an important change from now on. We will have a new navigation button where we will find this new feed we are talking about. The usual shopping style is maintained; only now, we will have a new icon to click on (in the shape of a light bulb) if what we want is to access the Inspire purchase option.

The first time we access this new feature, we will be asked to select different shopping interests. That is done so that the algorithm can show us the products we are most interested in through short videos and photos. Once we are shown the content, we may want to buy, and then we will only have to double-tap on the image to indicate that we liked it.

If we are very interested in a particular product, it will be time to interact with the lower buttons on the right side of the screen. From there, you can find more details about the product, add it to your wish list or buy it directly. As in other applications, the more we interact with the feed, the more items we will be shown of our style and interest.

That is a new shopping experience that is much more entertaining and faster than we have experienced. Inspire is expected to exponentially increase the sales made on the platform while gaining new customers, who leave behind the option of buying from social networks to replace them with Amazon.
