This is the new Trader Joe’s and you won’t believe how cute it is!

There is no such thing as an ugly Trader Joe's, that's a fact. But on this one, they've really put in the effort.

I can’t deny that Trader Joe’s usually fills my pantry (to the misfortune of my personal finances and to the delight of my good taste, of course) Its unique and delicious products are like mermaids that sing and attract me to the rocks, to crash against, for example, delicious fall products, that are always expected at home by everyone. Or against those chocolate cookies that taste like no other.

By the way, I live near a Trader Joe’s, and people who live in College Park, Maryland, will also have a store nearby. It has already opened at 4429 Calvert Road, and is beautifully embellished with beautiful murals celebrating the University of Maryland campus and its splendid buildings, as well as a plane referencing the local College Park airport and Lake Artemisia.

The new and revolutionary Trader Joe’s

The new TJ’s measures 11,000 square feet (1,021.93 m²) and is the first in Prince George’s County. It is the last supermarket to arrive in the area and joins others such as Safeway, Whole Foods and Lidl.

The new Trader Joe’s at College Park, Maryland, opened last November, 27, 2022.

The last Trader Joe’s to make it to the D.C. metro area were, first, a 15,000-square-foot store that opened near Union Market in 2018, and a second store in Bethesda that opened in March.

Trader Joe’s now has 20 locations in and around the metro area, which includes, of course, the new College Park store.

The revolutionary thing about this new Trader Joe’s is that it is part of the new Aster College Park mixed-use community, a project led by TDC and the Greenbelt, Maryland based Bozzuto Group. This interesting and radical complex includes 400 residential units and other retail shops of various kinds, thinking about the 15 minutes city concept: it means that people should live at no more than 15 minutes from everything they need, from education facilities to hospitals or even supermarkets.

Aster College Park came to life as a public-private partnership and received a total investment of $2 billions, as an effort to place the community among the nation’s best college towns.
