If you reside in the Empire State or, as locals call it, “The City”, or “NYC”, you’ll need to follow a specific process that must be done -at least- once a year. You can fill out a combined application form for the SNAP program. This form may vary depending on the state you reside in. In New York, you can submit your application online through ACCESS HRA.
You must request your recertification kit to be mailed to you by calling Infoline at 718-557-1399. If you prefer a person-to-person interaction, you can pick up an application at one of our SNAP centers. You can also fax your complete form (and attached documents) at 917-639-1111, or print it out and drop it in your nearest SNAP center.
Required documents to recertify your food stamps in NYC
Inside the recertification kit, you’ll have to include identification for all household members, such as a driver’s license, state ID, or passport. Additionally, you’ll need Social Security numbers for all household members. Also, proof of your household’s income, including pay stubs, employer verification, or income tax returns.
