Tiffany & Co. x Nike Sneaker Collaboration Sparks Controversy Among Sneaker Lovers

Nike and Tiffany & Co. Release $400 Sneaker

We’ve all owned Nike sneakers at some point in our lives. In fact, if you open my shoe cabinet, you will find a pair of Nike’s Dunk Low Retro, and a pair of Nike’s Blazer Mid 77. As a bonus, there’s a pair of sandals from the check mark brand. Their products last for years and years, and can stand heavy-duty use like skating, playing sports, running or just daily-basis utilization.

And those who love luxury products, take a walk through the Tiffany & Co stores regularly, for being a brand synonymous with quality, craftsmanship, and luxury. They are known for their high quality diamond engagement rings and other fine jewelry, but also for offering a range of luxury products such as watches, fragrances, personal accessories and gifts.

Why Are Costumers Not Impressed With This Nike x Tiffany Sneaker Collaboration?

If Nike and Tiffany & Co came together to create a product, one could imagine that the result would be a combination of style, quality, and technology. Nike is known for its innovation in the world of sports and fashion, while Tiffany & Co. he is recognized for their elegance and luxury in the world of jewelry. Fans of both brands might believe that they would create a product together that combines Nike’s sports technology with Tiffany & Co’s style and elegance. It would also be based on sustainability and social responsibility, since both brands are known for their commitment to these values. Well, nothing of that happened, and fans are disappointed and angry.

Nike’s New Tiffany & Co. partnership sneakers. What do you think?

In recent days, both companies took to social media to announce with great fanfare that they were ready to launch sneakers created in collaboration between both companies. They did not skimp on defining the product as if it were the launch of the century: “A legendary pair,”. Yes, that what says an advertisement paid by both brands in Sunday’s printed edition of the New York Times.

At first, the sneakers, baptized as Nike Air Force 1 Low Tiffany & Co. “1837”, are presented as something that is far from impressing sneaker fans. In fact, it looks like millions of other sneakers that have circulated on the market since Marquis Converse launched that iconic footwear in 1892. The “1837” are all black, from the leather to the sole, and the Nike logo is sewn in an intense light blue color. And that’s it: two of the best creative teams in the whole world arrive to this.

On the back, you can see a small piece of stainless steel where the Tiffany & Co brand is embossed. And that’s all, folk. Neither the futuristic and avant-garde design of other Nike, nor the elegance and luxury of Tiffany are anywhere to be seen in these disappointing sneakers.

As I have said, fans of the brands have already defenestrated the design, which they have described as not elaborate, boring, lazy and unfunny. The worst thing of all is that the price has stunned, stupefied, horrified customers: it will be sold in the next spring of 2023 for no less than $400.
