SNAP Benefits Payments in Three States in February 2024.

As you already know, SNAP benefits are always prepared to be sent every month, since the USDA already has the specific funds for this purpose. Food stamps were created decades ago to meet the needs of the neediest families in the United States — both in the states and in the other associated territories — by sending monthly deposits to Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards.

It is important to note that each of the states and territories in which food stamps operate have their own payment schedules, depending on their own systems and procedural times. There are three states that are still finishing paying their benefits, with transfers to EBT cards stipulated for February 13th.

How Much in SNAP Money Could You Claim This Month?

As usual, the SNAP payment system determines the amount of money that each household can receive based on how many people make it up. Until the month of September 2024, a single person can receive a maximum of $291, while a family of 2 people can claim up to $535.

A family of three members may be eligible to have an EBT card in which each month will be deposited up to $766, while a family of 4 members (the US type family, two parents and two children) could receive up to $973.

A household consisting of five people can receive a monthly payment of up to $1,155, and a household of six people up to $1,386. The USDA’s basic list is completed with families of seven, which can claim monthly up to $1,532, and one of eight up to $1,751. For each additional member, $219.

Remember that these are maximum amounts, and it does not mean that your household will receive exactly that money, but that the amount of money allocated to them depends on several parameters to be considered by the USDA and state authorities. If you think you qualify, apply now and feed your family with fresh, good quality groceries.

Three States Still Paying SNAP Benefits For One More Week

One of the states that still has to pay for food stamps is Arkansas, whose payment schedule runs from February 4 to 13. So, the families that have to receive their payments from today until the 13th, are going to see how the money hits their EBT cards.

Sharing the same payment schedule, the state of Minnesota is also distributing money to food stamp recipients through Feb. 13. The third state that has the same pay time is Arizona, with the same paydays between the 4th and the 13th of the month. If you live in other states, stay tuned to our website because we are publishing the different payment schedules for SNAP benefits every day, with specific dates and amounts to be paid.

New Bill to Set the Minimum Snap Benefit to $100 in NYC

Nearly three million New Yorkers already know the vital role SNAP plays in putting food on the table. Now, a proposed bill could offer a significant boost to their minimum monthly benefits, quadrupling the current amount from $23 to $100.

This legislation, introduced in both the state Senate and Assembly, proposes a “SNAP Minimum Benefit Program.” If passed, it would guarantee eligible households a minimum of $100 each month, a much-needed safety net amidst rising food costs and the recent expiration of pandemic-era benefit increases.

This initiative isn’t just about policy; it has real-world backing. Major food retailers like Tops Friendly Markets and Price Chopper/Market 32, with deep roots in New York, are lending their voices to the cause. In a letter to Governor Hochul, they urged her to prioritize this legislation in the upcoming state budget, acknowledging the significant gap left by the pandemic aid’s end.

The need for enhanced assistance is undeniable. Comptroller DiNapoli’s report highlights that over 10% of New York households struggle with food insecurity, underlining the urgency for expanded support programs. This proposed increase isn’t simply a number; it’s a potential lifeline for countless families which are waiting the money to arrive every month to their EBT cards.
