The Supreme sneakers line from Nike has been creating a crack between fans who love them and some others that hate them. Both teams are passionate about what they think and have strong opinions. According to a tweet from @k9_itsiant, owner of the renowned aftermarket sneakers store Private Selection, Supreme and Nike SB will be collaborating on two new sneakers models later this year. The upcoming SB Dunk Low and SB Dunk High will reportedly feature artwork from the legendary painter, graffiti writer, and performance artist Rammellzee.

Now, there are already photos of the sneakers silhouettes, and both models will have their own prints and will differ in color. The SB Dunk High is expected to be made with black longhair suede, while the SB Dunk Low will feature white longhair suede. Previous mock-ups of the rumored model showcased an all-over print of Rammellzee’s artwork, but they were purely speculative.
Fans of Supreme are likely familiar with Rammellzee, as the brand’s Spring/Summer 2020 sneakers collection heavily featured his all-over print graphics. The prints were applied to GORE-TEX jackets and sweatsuits, while his unique handstyle was emblazoned on T-shirts. Rammellzee and Supreme’s creative director Tremaine Emory both hail from Queens, with the former being born and raised in Far Rockaway and the latter growing up in Jamaica.
The rumored collaboration could be part of Supreme’s Spring 2023 collection, which is currently rolling out, or it could be part of the upcoming Fall 2023 collection. Rammellzee was an American artist, performer, and musician who made a significant impact on the underground art scene in the 1980s. Born in Far Rockaway, Queens, in 1960, Rammellzee grew up immersed in hip-hop culture and graffiti art. He began painting subway trains at a young age, and eventually transitioned to studio art, creating large-scale paintings, sculptures, and installations.
Rammellzee was known for his complex, multidimensional works, which combined elements of graffiti, sculpture, and assemblage. He developed a unique visual language that he called “Gothic Futurism,” which explored the intersection of language, mythology, and technology. His work was often political and subversive, challenging the conventions of the art world and mainstream culture.
