Trader Joe’s is able to offer high-quality products at affordable prices due to their small store format, which reduces operating costs a lot, in comparison to another retailer chains. TJ’s also source many of their products directly from manufacturers and have a private label brand, which allows them to control the quality of their products and reduce costs.

There’s another thing that no company can buy: faithfulness from its costumers. Trader Joe’s has as well a loyal customer base and a narrow product selection, focusing on offering a smaller number of high-quality products rather than a wide range of lower-quality products. This allows them to offer a curated selection of products at a lower price point. These tricks are what makes the dessert we are gonna talk about so affordable, yet delicious and high quality.

Trader Joe’s $8 tart: a little bit of oven, and it’s ready to eat!

A great apple tart should have a flaky and tender crust with a buttery flavor, thinly sliced and evenly distributed apples that are slightly caramelized and have a tender, yet firm texture. The filling must be rich and flavorful with a balance of sweetness and acidity, a nice, even color and a glossy finish. It should be served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on top. Oh God, that sounds so good!!!

Yes: Trader Joe’s French Apple Tart is all that and more. It’s so good, it was approved by famous chef and TV host Ina Garten. During a recent appearance on The Today Show, Garten revealed that one particular dessert from Trader Joe’s is always on her fridge, especially when having something fast and delicious for entertaining guests.

“The other day I had some friends over, and I got an apple tart from Trader Joe’s. I put it in the oven—it was absolutely delicious,” said Garten. “At the end of the day, you want everybody to have something absolutely delicious to eat, and it doesn’t mean that you have to spend the entire day in the kitchen making it,” she added.

Now, Trader Joe’s have some nice words about this product. “To create this masterpiece of a Tart, our supplier takes a buttery apricot and apple filling (made with sweet Northern Spy apples and tart Granny Smiths), nestles it in a shortbread crust, tops it with a fan of even more sliced apples, and finishes it with a light, apricot glaze. A thing of rustic beauty”, can be read in its website. The best part is its prices: only $7.99 for a 20oz (755 g) tart.
