Balancing the household budget, working, cleaning, picking up and dropping off the kids at school and the soccer game: the modern life has us caught between complications, and sometimes, shopping becomes an impossible task. How do I go to the supermarket if I don’t have any time? Well, also modern life gave us solutions.

This is where the online services of retail chains such as Walmart come into play to make our lives easier, which has a phenomenal e-commerce platform that offers delivery or store pick-up in practically any part of the country where there is a store. Don’t settle for its already extensive system, now there is a new way to buy from your cell phone, and it’s as simple as sending a text.

Shop at Walmart with just a text message

Walmart’s new system, Text to Shop, allows you to buy in any of the stores in the United States by just sending text messages. The company has been testing the system for just over a year now, and it was officially released before the end of the year.

The new Text to Shop experience, is connected to the Walmart customer’s account, so the company knows the usual orders. Just by sending a text message with the needed items, groceries and products, they will be added to the cart. The program offers the possibility of introducing modifications to orders with the Reorder function. With this feature, the user will be able to review and add additional items to the shopping cart, or make changes to their listings, before proceeding with the payment.

Both with the Walmart application or by sending another text message, the user can finish the payment. The last step is to define how you want to receive the product: either pick it up at the store or have it sent to your home.

The service has been created in partnership with Walmart’s global technology team, and was designed by listening directly to customer needs: thousands of consumers were consulted and the operating parameters of the system were established to be as functional as possible.

Walmart is one of the largest retail chains in the world and is known for its low prices and wide range of products, including groceries, clothing, electronics, and home goods. Currently, there are more than 10,500 stores around the world, over 5,300 just in the United States, and 400 in Canada.
