Other media outlets have also taken up the cause, including Mountain View Packaging LLC, which announced the recall of frozen, ready-to-eat Crispy Chicken with Almonds. The failed quality controls were conducted by the Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). However, the problem with this food comes from a customer alerting about the presence of shrimp pieces, when the box assured that the product was made only with chicken and almonds.

From there, quality control was carried out and it was found that this prepared dish contained traces of shrimp (an allergenic product as far as seafood is concerned) without indicating its presence on the label. That could have sent hundreds of consumers with shrimp allergies to the hospital. And as indicated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), shellfish belong to the eight food groups that can cause the worst allergic reactions.

From Walmart’s website, we will find the 28 states in which this food has been recalled, which we can identify with lot code 22321-1, the UPC code 695119120499, and whose expiration date is May 24, 2023. Up to date, there have been no recorded cases about incidents with this product by its consumers, but that does not mean that the food is no longer dangerous. So, if we have this precooked dish in our homes, the best thing to do is to return it immediately to the nearest Walmart store.
