The patchwork or almazuela in Castilian, is to make a piece of fabric joining scraps of other fabrics, with them you can make a blanket, bedspreads, cushions, tablecloths, clothing, etc.
This sewing technique is above all creativity. By joining pieces of different colors and sizes, you can carry out whatever work you have in mind. You will not have to have great knowledge in sewing to unleash your imagination.
With sewing you should always start by making the compositions easier to take practice and let go, you will see how in a short time you dare with more complicated things and it will be surprising what you have done.
There are several basic patchwork techniques , here I bring you the best known. The beauty of these is that you can create your own compositions.

Grandmother´s flower garden

It is one of the best known and easiest techniques to do . It is created by sewing hexagons together, combining colors and patterns to form the drawing, then you will join them by assembling some blocks with others until you create the desired piece.

I applied (application)

There are different techniques to make the applications, the simplest is to create a drawing by sewing several pieces and then sewing it to a base fabric.
You can also take some drawings that the fabrics have and put an adhesive interfacing on them and stick them on a base fabric or on a shirt, apron , towels, etc. Sewing the edges of the application with hidden seam or a Zis Zas that will be very cool.

Piecing _

This technique consists of forming blocks by joining different geometric pieces and combining these blocks, their colors and patterns, in this way you get the desired drawing. Start with the simplest ones such as squares and rectangles.

Stars _

This patchwork technique is the same as piecing. You get the pieces with which the blocks are formed, they are grouped into star shapes that you like the most.

Log cabin

The pachwork log cabin technique is based on sewing pieces of fabric vertically and horizontally from a central square, superimposing them and creating a square motif, you can create a very large one or make several of the same size and join them all to create your composition.

Pineapple (pineapple)

This technique is developed the same as that of the log cabin. A central square, then you put the vertical and horizontal pieces, then you put other pieces diagonally in the corners creating a nice composition.

Dresden plate

This technique is based on making a complete circle of several equal pieces whose ends can be straight, pointed or round and ending in the center with another piece such as a rhombus, hexagon, etc.

Landscapes _

There are several ways to do this patchwork technique, with a template or with a wrapping paper, drawing the pieces for the landscape that you are going to develop, cut the pieces by making the templates of your drawing. With the templates cut out the pieces of the landscape, start by sewing the pieces at the top, to finish with those at the bottom of the tapestry, creating a wonderful painting .
