For those who love to decorate and the marine world, Ikea has launched a new theme that promises to sweep. This new collection will be available this October, especially focusing on children and their fascination with the animals that inhabit the ocean. This new creation has been made possible thanks to input from the Children’s Advisory Panel.
The design of this new decor collection is inspired by sea creatures, with the aim of provoking greater interest in the youngest members of the household. Although, of course, if we are lovers of everything related to the ocean, we can get a few items from this range, called BLÅVINGAD. Among other things, we will find many stuffed animals to choose from. We can find toys aimed at children from 3 to 7 years old and, depending on the article, even from 8 years old onwards.
The Marine world inspires new decoration
As expressed by Ikea’s product developer, one of the main purposes of this new collection is to bring the ocean closer to children and families so that they can spend moments of fun and entertainment together. Not only the needs and interests of the smallest of the house have been taken into account, but also the need of adults to have decorative and functional elements in their homes.
As we have already mentioned, the Ikea Children’s Advisory Panel has been a key element in this new creation. Thanks to this entity, it has been possible to discover and determine that most children are interested in the sea and the animals that can find in it. The design of BLÅVINGAD began with this data. Sustainable production was also considered for its creation, with most of its products being made from 100% recycled polyester.
In addition, teddy animals have been created, taking into account the marine animals preferred by children worldwide. We find orcas, dolphins, blue whales, and turtles in the collection, among other models. BLÅVINGAD is expected to be a sales success, as it has been created with the interests and preferences of children actively in mind.
What is the Children’s Advisory Panel?
It is an online panel that receives about 40 comments from children from 8 to 14 years old from different parts of the world. They can leave comments about their likes, interests, etc. This data is then collected to be taken into account when creating new decoration collections. It is a very useful way to involve and give voice to children’s tastes in projects such as BLÅVINGAD.
