In this week’s post I will explain how to make homemade fabric softener for clothes , because you already know how much I like to do ecological things and do my bit to conserve our planet. This softener can be used with homemade soap that I explained how to do it in the post How to make homemade liquid soap for washing machines .
With this homemade softener, apart from being ecological, you will save a few euros that always come in handy at this time. I recommend that you do it because the clothes are very soft , fluffy and wrinkle less .
Ingredients:
- 1500 ml of water (filtered, distilled or mineral).
- 500 ml of vinegar (white or apple).
- 200 g of bicarbonate.
- 3 or 4 drops of essential oil.
- A splash of alcohol.
Preparation of the homemade fabric softener step by step
Pour mineral water into a container.
Next, you add the vinegar , mixing it well with the water.
Then you will gradually incorporate the bicarbonate and stir it slowly, since the bicarbonate creates a lot of foam.
Pour a few drops of essential oil into a glass, (the smell that you like best) a little alcohol, mix it and add it to the fabric softener . This step is optional but this way it will have the smell that you like the most, giving it your personal touch.
Fill an empty bottle and write home softener on the outside, so you don’t confuse it with other products.
Let it rest for a day and you can use it, usually putting it in the space for the fabric softener that your washing machine has.
