Eliminating stains is easy, since if we have a celebration and the chosen tablecloth has stains or we realize that our favorite blouse is stained with perfume or makeup, upholstery stained with nail polish, etc. Follow these tips and you will remove stains in no time by whitening clothes and leaving them as new.
Remove stains from lace, tablecloths, etc. and leave them as new:
If you have had a coffee with friends or have had guests at home with a celebration , you prepare everything to wash it and you realize that the napkins are stained with lipstick or lipstick , surely you think that now how are you going to remove those stains. We give you a solution so that they remain pristine; You just have to rub the stain with 90º alcohol and wash it with soap and water and a splash of ammonia, when you need them again they will be as good as new.
All the garments that we have from the “trousseau” or that we have inherited from the grandmothers, tablecloths, sheets, curtains, bedspreads, etc., with those wonderful Bobbin lace , crochet lace or those embroidered by hand that are sent by all our friends, we can use them for any special celebration or for a unique occasion. If they are made of natural fibers we can wash them with mild soap, there are now an infinity of them on the market for delicate garments, I also put (call me a maniac) two tablespoons of baking soda.
If yellow stains have appeared somewhere because of the time they have been stored, you just have to soak them with warm milk as if they were toast, and add a splash of ammonia when we are going to wash them.
But if what you want is to have all your garments with the immaculate white from when you bought them, what you have to do is mix milk and water (the solution is 50%) and heat the mixture until it cooks, we put the garments in the pot or saucepan where we are making the mixture and leave them in this solution until cool. Everything will be “white as milk”.
Removing stains from duvets, bedspreads and bedding : removing stains
The first thing I do is shake the quilts I have very well, in this way I remove any dust they may have, and with an old toothbrush moistened in soap and water I rub the entire part that rubs on the floor of the room . Then I tend them to “air a little” and dry as my mother says (we already know that all mothers are wise and have resources for everything). If you have a large capacity washing machine you can wash them directly, I put two tablespoons of baking soda with half a cup of vinegar, in this way we whiten and kill germs.
We must always follow the instructions on the garment labels when washing and drying.
Remove stains by bleaching in the sun: remove stains
If what you want is to whiten and remove stains like our mothers and grandmothers did in the sun, our Sun is a natural and cheap bleach , heh, heh.
What we must do is the same as they did, hang out the clothes after rubbing them with soap and water, having to moisten them every so often, in this way there will be no trace of any stain. Finally we will wash and put our favorite fabric softener.
Whitening and removing stains from nail polish, cosmetics and perfumes:
You are calmly painting your nails and horror! A drop of nail polish has fallen on the upholstery or on the tablecloth, do not worry, you rub it with acetone and a few drops of turpentine, finally we will wash everything with soap and water.
If you have white clothes stained with perfume , it is easy to remove the stain if it is recent since you will only have to rub with a sponge or washcloth dampened with warm water. We will wash according to the indications of the garment in question.
But if the perfume stain on your favorite white blouse already has that yellowish hue that horrifies us so much, we will have to treat it differently. The first thing we will have to do is a small mass of sodium bicarbonate with water , we will cover the entire stain with this paste and let it act for about 15 minutes before washing as usual.
But there are perfume stains that are really difficult to remove, if despite performing all the previous steps when we put it back on we see that the stain seems to not want to leave our clothes, we can spray it again and rub with white vinegar , let it soak with soap and water to later be able to check that it is as good as new and the stain has disappeared.
Remove stains from upholstery, armchairs and sofas like new: remove stains
They will remain as when we bought them after erasing the stains (although now it is too late to regret having chosen such a light color) if we mix hydrogen peroxide and warm water in equal parts, we will wet a white cotton cloth or wipe and rub where we have the stains, we will let them dry and we are already afraid to completely clean our upholstery of the armchairs, shoes, chairs or the sofas that we have at home.
ADVICE:
If we paint our nails and we do not want to have any mishap, the best we can do is put an old towel or tablecloth that we have at home and thus we will not stain anything.
As for the perfume, always spray it at about 20 – 25 cm. of clothing, or better yet, it is customary to put only perfume on the nape of the neck, on the inside of the wrists, neckline, behind the ears and finally some sprays through the hair, that is, letting it dry very well before get dressed. Whenever we get stained, it is better to remove the stains at the same time that we realize that we have stained.
If we use a stain remover sold in large stores, it is always advisable to use it on fabrics such as cotton or polyester. In delicate fabrics we will only use water and soap for this type of garment, we can also take them to the dry cleaner so they can remove the stain.
