In America, we weren't used to it, so the learning curve for us is slow. In this scenario, it is important to learn new tricks so you get to buy more with your money.

One of the ways to deal with inflation is to learn to shop at discount supermarkets, such as Costco (which particularly requires a membership card to shop) or one of its competitors: LIDL, whose discounts are like a raging river that passes fast and in large quantities, and sometimes it doesn’t give you time to keep up.

The German chain entered the United States in 2015 and, since then, has made itself a place in the American market for its low prices and very high quality products. Currently, the chain is present only on the east coast, but it is growing rapidly to the west. In September, LIDL announced that it will reduce the price of more than 100 products, to help its consumers face inflation, but there are hundreds of offers beyond that announcement, and we have found five items for you.

LIDL’s great value products

If you live nearby a LIDL store, do not hesitate to visit it in November to try this products and, if not, we’ve already found incredible items in Costco and in ALDI, in case you live by their stores. Check’em out!

It’s a classic that LIDL brought in his suitcase from Germany, a tried and true classic with a delicious apple filling. And they don’t just serve for breakfast: after a dinner, with a scoop of ice cream, they work as a terrific dessert. They are on sale in a two-pack for $1.19.

LIDL cultured irish butter

Cultured Irish Butter

This butter, winner of the gold medal of the Los Angeles International Dairy Products Competition 2018 is sold exclusively under the Lidl Preferred Selection brand. The “cultured butter” is like regular butter but with one additional step in the process: after pasteurization, the cream is fermented by adding a carefully selected bacterial culture and then left to ferment. The longer you culture, the better and more intense the butter turns out.

When I go to this supermarket, I choose this brand over others for its quality and for the good value-price ratio. An 8-ounce package is worth $3.45.
