Thanksgiving, one of my favorite dinners, is coming. And after that, Christmas, the magical night in which millions of little faces light up when opening gifts at the morning of December 25th. But, oh my God! What a tiring frenzy is to do the shopping for those celebrations. I love getting together with family and friends, but kinda hate all the prior logistics.

For decades, we have enjoyed our shopping in what is possibly one of the most representative and important chain stores for the American economy. And we already know that I’m talking about Walmart, which is now doing everything possible to send its customers towards the online experience, offering an improved and more user-friendly service than ever before.

The new and improved Walmart.com

After an exhaustive User Experience Design developing (UX design) that took them more than a year, Walmart presented its new website in the usual domain, Walmart.com.

“We have been working hard over the past year to improve our site and add new features that enhance and personalize the shopping experience on Walmart.com and in our application. Today we are pleased to announce even more improvements, just in time for the most wonderful time of the year,” the company said in a statement.

During the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, time is precious, so the online shopping experience can be a much more effective option to avoid standing in long lines to get a turkey, two pounds of potatoes and two bottles of wine.

Some of the new features are:

Virtual queuing experience: Creates a kind of virtual waiting line for the most demanded products on dates such as, for example, Black Friday. While the app does the queue for you, you can keep checking the deals and the tens of thousands of products that Walmart offers on its e-commerce platform.

Skip the checkout: If you have to buy a single item, you can press the “buy now” button on most items, which allows you to buy them directly from the pages of the items themselves, for an even faster and easier purchase.

Don’t miss out: Customers will now be able to take a look at the most purchased or most popular products of the moment. You will even be able to see how many people are viewing the item right now and how many added it to their shopping cart.

Integrated virtual Reality: This almost surreal feature can help you understand how that incredible 42-inch OLED TV would look like on your living room’s wall, or in your bedroom’s.

Complete the outfit: You like a blue shirt, but you don’t know what to combine it with. Don’t worry, because the Stylitics function, powered by advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms, suggests outfits that match. It is available in men’s, baby and children’s clothing for selected brands, including No Boundaries, Free Assembly, Wonder Nation, Justice and more. Available for 8,000 items spanning seven categories and including 16,000 outfit variations.
